For cleared military & defense professionals
The mission demanded you keep moving. This is where you finally stop and process it.
Confidential, private-pay EMDR for active-duty service members, defense civilians, and cleared contractors across the Lowcountry, including Joint Base Charleston, NIWC Atlantic, the Coast Guard, and the contractor community. Care that respects how much discretion your role requires.
What you may be carrying
Operational weight you can't set down
Deployments, incidents, and a tempo that never let you stop and reprocess what happened. It doesn't just fade on its own.
A reputation for being the steady one
You're the person others lean on. Admitting you're carrying something feels like a liability you can't afford.
Real concern about the record
You've heard the stories. You want help, and you also want to control where it's documented and who can see it.
Confidentiality
Private-pay by design, so you control the record.
Because you pay privately, there's no insurance claim filed and no diagnosis code shared with any carrier, employer, or third party. Your clinical record stays between you and me. Seeking care for stress, grief, or trauma is not, by itself, disqualifying, and you deserve to decide who knows you sought it. That control is the point.

Why EMDR, and why an intensive
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based protocol used widely with veterans and service members. It works on how a memory is stored in the nervous system rather than requiring you to talk through every detail repeatedly, which is why many high-tempo professionals prefer it, and why an intensive format can fit a schedule that doesn't bend.
Questions people in your position ask
- Will seeking therapy here affect my security clearance?
- Routine counseling for stress, grief, relationship, or trauma issues is generally not a basis for losing a clearance, and adjudicative guidelines have moved toward encouraging help-seeking. What private-pay care adds is control: with no insurance claim, there's no diagnosis code shared with any third party. I can't give legal or clearance advice about your specific situation, but I can keep your record between us.
- Do you take TRICARE or my insurance?
- This is a private-pay practice by design. That's what keeps your care off any third-party record. I can provide a superbill if you ever choose to seek out-of-network reimbursement, but most clients here value that nothing is filed at all.
- Can we do this virtually or around an unpredictable schedule?
- Yes. Sessions and intensives are available in person in North Charleston and virtually across SC and AL, and the intensive format is built specifically for people whose calendars don't allow months of weekly appointments.
